One of three major airports serving the New York metropolitan area, Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) is located 15 miles southwest of Midtown Manhattan.
It is the 13th busiest airport in the United States, with about 40 million passengers using the airport in 2014.
About 25 airlines operate at Newark Airport, including United Airlines (which has designated EWR as a hub), Air Canada, Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, JetBlue Airways, Lufthansa and Southwest Airlines.
Newark Liberty International Airport has three runways, one helipad and three passenger terminals. Ground transportation options include rental cars, taxis, pre-arranged limousines, the AirTrain, public buses and shared-ride shuttles.
